Enjoy gluten-free in... DÜSSELDORF
Gluten-free food doesn't have to be monotonous or boring; it can be just as diverse, creative, and delicious as its gluten-containing alternatives. Numerous restaurants, cafés, and bakeries throughout Germany prove this. Some of the very unusual combinations will even convince your "non-gluten-free friends." This way, everyone can enjoy a relaxed evening without gluten and unpleasant surprises.
We've compiled our personal top 10 best gluten-free establishments in Düsseldorf for you here. If your favorite spot isn't on the list, let us know – we'd be happy to add more top addresses.
Cafés
LAURA´S DELI Café
A touch of New York in Düsseldorf's Old Town!
My absolute place to be! Anyone who has been to New York, L.A. or Miami will immediately understand Laura's concept! Not only the decor but also the food is a feast for the eyes. Everything is lovingly prepared and presented fresh, definitely worth a photo! Gluten-free sandwiches and sweets, as well as vegan and gluten-free dishes are always on the menu here; industrial sugar, white flour, and cow's milk are largely replaced by healthier and more nutritious alternatives. My personal highlight is the Salmon Bowl with a Green Velvet Smoothie!
If you're as enthusiastic as I am, you should definitely check out her cookbook, "KISS THE COOK."
Carlsplatz 1, 40213 Düsseldorf | Tue - Sat: 09:00 – 16:00
Gluten-free Bakery Café - Die Backbrüder Markus & Tobi
Gluten-free - Organic - Homemade - Lactose-free – Vegan
Here you'll find everything a gluten-free heart desires. Gluten-free breads & rolls, gluten-free croissants, gluten-free cakes, tarts & cookies. Only 100% gluten-free ingredients are used. The brothers make all their products by hand. Who can say no to a delicious croissant?
A bonus is the inner courtyard in summer, which allows for enjoying your treats right there!

GREENTREE´S Café - Brunch & Lunch

A Düsseldorf concept with Australian roots - following the motto "treat your body like a temple".
Healthy, vegan, and vegetarian cuisine, homemade cold-pressed juices, smoothie bowls, all-day breakfast (which is an absolute dream for me), as well as extraordinary salad bowls, inspired by the gastronomic lifestyle in Australia. The "Down Under" feeling is truly palpable here! My favorite: the Tyblat with coconut flakes (naturally gluten-free)!
Lorettostraße 54, 40219 Düsseldorf | Mon-Fri: 8:00-15:00 | Sat-Sun: 10:00-15:00

Lemonade Café
Near the Floragarten is the super cute Lemonade Café. It immediately gives me summer feelings and little Paris vibes! Not only is the exterior facade a dream. There's even a shop window for coffee "to go", but you'll want to enjoy it right there at the lovely seating areas. If you like lemonade with reduced sugar content or prefer a turmeric latte, you'll love it!

Restaurants
DA NOI – Cucina Italiana
Below Königsallee is DA NOI. A typical authentic inviting Italian restaurant. The dough and every pizza can be topped with vegan almond-based cheese substitute upon request. Pizza is also available here in gluten-free. For me, it's a solid restaurant where price and performance match.
Graf-Adolf-Straße 25, 40212 Düsseldorf | Mon-Sun: 11:30 - 23:00
Casita Mexicana

There are four Casita Mexicana locations in Düsseldorf. My personal favorite is the one in Pempelfort. Anyone who has been to Mexico will immediately feel the ambiance and joie de vivre of the country. Not only is there delicious food here, which in most cases is gluten-free, vegan, or vegetarian and specially marked on the menu, but there are also the best drinks! If you want to spend a fun evening with friends, this is definitely the place to be!
Beuthstraße 1, 40211 Düsseldorf | Mon-Sun Kitchen: 12:00 - 22:00
SATTGRÜN
The name says it all, with three locations: in Medienhafen, Flingern, and right in the heart of Düsseldorf. All food and drinks are vegan and therefore cholesterol and lactose-free; gluten-free dishes are all marked, which greatly simplifies the search. If you like buffets and especially want to eat out quickly at lunchtime without waiting forever for your order, this is definitely the right place!
Medienhafen, Brückenstr. 12, 40221 Düsseldorf | Mon – Sun: 12:00 to 22:00

Gogi Matcha
If you're looking for Asian food in Düsseldorf, you'll find it pretty quickly here. In the heart of the community is the Korean grill restaurant Gogi Matcha. Here you'll find everything a grilling enthusiast could desire.
So, if you enjoy getting hands-on at a restaurant and like to prepare your own food, this is the perfect place.
The only downside is that it's not far from the train station, so it's not exactly the prettiest area in Düsseldorf.
Bismarckstraße 33, 40210 Düsseldorf | Mon-Sun: 18:00 – 23:00
Das Schwan Restaurant
Here in the Old Town, you'll find the German Schwan Restaurant, which impresses with rustic chic in a modern way. On the menu, you can immediately find what you're looking for, whether it's vegetarian, gluten-free, or vegan. Bonus point - the Rhine is right around the corner for a digestive stroll!
Mühlenstraße 2, 40213 Düsseldorf | Tue-Fri: 12:00 - 22:00
Mongo´s – Buffet and Mongolian Grill
It's no coincidence that Mongo's is recommended in almost every restaurant guide. Here in Düsseldorf at Medienhafen, it's also very well-known. The concept and the
ambiance speak for themselves. There's an extraordinary selection of meat, fish, vegetables, and side dishes at the buffet. Everyone can put together their own bowl, choose one of the many delicious, homemade sauces, and get unlimited refills. For me personally, the many delicious sauces and dips are the absolute highlight.
Zollhof 10 Medienhafen, 40221 Düsseldorf | Fri-Sat 12:00-1:00 AM | Sun 11:30 AM-00:00 AM
